Meet the Team Behind Albany Lettings, Edinburgh
When you rent or let a property, most of the stress doesn’t come from the property itself. It comes from uncertainty.
Who do I speak to?
Will this be dealt with correctly?
Is someone actually paying attention?
At Albany Lettings, we believe good tenancy management starts with people who take responsibility, communicate clearly and follow things through properly.
That is why we think it is important you know who you are dealing with.
Below, you’ll meet the team behind Albany Lettings. The people who market properties, manage tenancies, solve problems and keep homes running smoothly day to day.
Each profile explains their role, how they work and what matters to them when it comes to managing homes and tenancies properly.
Branch Leadership
Andrew Williamson – Branch Manager
Andrew Williamson is the Branch Manager at Albany Lettings, responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the office and the team behind it.
He works closely with both the lettings and property management teams to ensure landlords and tenants receive consistent guidance throughout the tenancy.
His role includes new landlord enquiries, rent reviews and helping resolve complex situations that arise during tenancies.
“My role is making sure the team has what they need to do their job well,” he explains. “If something complicated comes in, whether that’s legislation, a dispute or a property issue, we work through it together so we reach the right outcome.”
With more than ten years’ experience in Edinburgh’s property sector, Andrew understands the complexities of the private rented market.
“The level of compliance involved in the Private Rented Sector is something people often underestimate. There is a lot happening behind the scenes to keep everything aligned with current regulations.”
Andrew is a member of ARLA Propertymark and regularly attends industry training to stay up to date with legislative changes.
Outside work, he enjoys running and often trains for half marathons.
Lettings Team
Louisa – Lettings Manager
Louisa is the Lettings Manager at Albany Lettings, overseeing the residential lettings operation and supporting the team through the marketing and application stages.
From advertising a property and handling enquiries to reviewing applications and agreeing tenancies, she ensures every stage of the process is handled carefully and that the right tenant is selected before anything is confirmed.
Landlords typically hear from Louisa when a tenant gives notice, when a property is about to be marketed, or when a decision needs to be made about pricing or an applicant. Tenants deal with her during the application stage, tenancy swaps and when tenancy terms are being agreed, and paperwork is being finalised.
At each point, she makes sure people understand what is happening and what comes next.
“My job is to make sure things happen in the right order and that nothing slips past,” she says. “Applications need to be reviewed carefully, timelines need to be managed, and decisions need to be made clearly before a tenancy is agreed.”
She is particularly strong at explaining lease terms and what they mean in practice, especially for landlords who want clarity before agreeing to something and for tenants going through the process for the first time.
“In Edinburgh, good properties generate strong interest quickly,” she says. “The key is assessing applications against clear criteria before agreeing a tenancy.”
Having lived in Edinburgh her whole life, Louisa knows the central areas well and understands how seasonal demand affects pricing and competition.
“People often underestimate how competitive it can be at certain times of the year. If the rent or presentation is slightly off, tenants move on quickly. Getting it right at the start avoids unnecessary delays.”
Her route into property was a planned career change after twelve years of being self-employed.
“I’d been running my own business for years, so I was used to making decisions and being accountable for them. Property felt similar in that way. The decisions you make early on tend to shape how the rest of the tenancy runs.”
What keeps her at Albany is the culture within the business.
“There’s genuine care for the team here. It’s not just about targets or numbers. If you need support, it’s there, and if you have an idea that could improve something, you’re encouraged to speak up.”
Outside of work, she switches off with running and time at the gym and is often described as direct, confident and personable.
Lauren Flack – Lettings Agent
Lauren Flack works within the lettings team at Albany, coordinating viewings and progressing tenant applications. She is often the point of contact during the early stages of a tenancy, keeping tenants, property managers and the lettings team aligned throughout the application process.
“If a tenant has sent over documents, I check they’re complete before passing them on,” she explains. “If something is missing, I go back straight away. That way, the property manager isn’t waiting on information, and the application doesn’t sit half-finished.”
Applications can move quickly, particularly in central Edinburgh. A delay of a day can mean a tenant withdraws or applies elsewhere. Lauren’s role is to keep the process moving once someone decides to apply.
“When someone is waiting to hear back, silence can feel like a no,” she says. “Even a quick update keeps things clear and avoids misunderstandings.”
Lauren has worked across sales, short-term lets and rentals, giving her a broad understanding of how different parts of the property sector connect. That wider perspective helps her anticipate what might be needed next rather than simply reacting.
What she appreciates most about Albany is the communication within the team.
“If something needs to be checked or clarified, people are willing to help. That makes it easier to keep things moving for landlords and tenants.”
Outside work, she enjoys walks along North Berwick beach with her boyfriend and dog, exploring local cafés and anything competitive, from board games to padel. She’s often described as proactive and organised.
Natasha Szanyi – Lettings Negotiator
Natasha Szanyi is a Lettings Negotiator at Albany Lettings, handling initial enquiries, conducting viewings and advising landlords on how their property is performing in the current market.
She works at the front end of the lettings process, helping tenants find a home while guiding landlords through the marketing stage.
Tenants often speak to Natasha about move-outs, tenancy swaps, rent increases or general questions about their agreement. Landlords rely on her for clear advice on rental value, weekly updates while their property is on the market and honest feedback on how it is being received.
“I’m a very open and honest person,” she says. “If something needs to be said, I’ll say it. That goes for tenants and landlords. My advice is always about what’s in their best interest.”
When a property is being marketed, she focuses on keeping landlords fully informed.
“I’ll explain how viewings are going, what feedback we’re getting and whether anything needs adjusting. It’s important they understand exactly where things stand.”
Natasha moved into property after working in retail.
“An unexpected opportunity came up, and once I started, I realised how much I enjoyed it. No two days are the same. You’re meeting different people, seeing different homes and learning something new all the time.”
Outside work, she enjoys watching anime, reading, cooking and spending time with friends and family. She’s often remembered for her positive energy and her laugh.
Ali Khan – Lettings Negotiator
Ali Khan advises landlords on rental values, marketing strategy and positioning properties effectively within Edinburgh’s competitive market. He conducts viewings, manages offers and acts as the main point of contact from initial enquiry through to securing a tenancy.
Landlords typically speak to Ali when preparing to rent a property, reviewing rent levels or re-marketing between tenancies. Tenants usually hear from him at the enquiry and viewing stage.
“I’m particularly careful with rental valuations,” he says. “Pricing needs to reflect current demand, not what the market was doing six months ago. Small differences can affect both the speed of a let and the type of applicant you attract.”
Much of his role involves managing expectations once a property is on the market. After viewings, he provides landlords with clear feedback and advises whether adjustments are needed.
“It’s better to address things early than let a property sit,” he says.
Ali enjoys the balance between market knowledge and working with people.
“I was drawn to property because it combines people skills with market insight. I enjoy helping landlords think strategically while also helping tenants find the right home.”
Colleagues often describe him as calm and straightforward.
“Overcomplicating things doesn’t help anyone,” he says.
Property Management Team
Alana Shepherd – Senior Property Manager
Alana manages a varied property portfolio across Edinburgh and handles complex maintenance projects, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
“It can be anything from a minor repair to a full refurbishment,” she says. “Often it’s about working through the detail carefully before deciding what needs to happen next.”
Her greatest strength, she says, is balance.
“I’m strongest at balancing tenant satisfaction with protecting the landlord’s position and the condition of the property long term.”
She knows Edinburgh’s traditional tenements and conservation areas well and understands how building type affects maintenance decisions.
“It’s important to understand the building first, then decide the right course of action.”
Shaun McCafferty – Property Manager
Shaun McCafferty manages a portfolio of residential properties across Edinburgh and is responsible for the day-to-day management of those tenancies.
His role includes handling maintenance issues, carrying out inspections and responding to day-to-day queries from landlords and tenants. Repairs can range from smaller reactive issues through to coordinating larger projects such as renovations, working closely with Albany’s network of contractors to ensure work is completed to a high standard.
“A lot of the job is about staying calm and working through the situation,” he says. “There’s always a way to resolve things. It’s about finding the best route to get there while keeping everyone informed.”
Because every property and tenancy is different, no two days are quite the same. One day might involve responding to a tenant reporting a boiler issue, while the next could be assisting a landlord with decisions around refurbishment work.
Before moving into property management, Shaun worked within a corporate graduate management programme where he spent four years progressing through several roles. After taking time out to travel across Asia and live in Melbourne for a year, he returned to Scotland and decided to pursue a career in the property sector.
Since joining Albany Lettings in March 2024, he has developed experience managing residential tenancies and enjoys the variety the role brings.
Outside work he enjoys keeping active, whether that’s playing football, going to the gym or getting out on the golf course.
What he values most about Albany is the culture within the business.
“There’s a real sense of pride in the relationships we have with landlords and tenants,” he says. “It’s a team environment where people support each other and want to do a good job.”
Clarisse Du Lac – Property Manager
Clarisse coordinates repairs, inspections and tenancy matters across her portfolio.
A large part of her role involves reactive maintenance and ensuring issues are followed through from first report to final resolution.
“In older Edinburgh buildings, you have to understand how the building works,” she says. “When repairs affect shared areas, it often involves coordinating several owners.”
She is particularly thorough with documentation.
“In this industry, if it isn’t written down, it didn’t happen.”
Originally from hospitality, she was drawn to property because of the mix of customer service, regulation and problem-solving.
Martin Peters – Property Manager
Martin manages maintenance, inspections and day-to-day communication across a number of properties.
He works closely with landlords, tenants and contractors to ensure repairs and tenancy issues are resolved quickly.
“Good communication makes a big difference,” he says. “Landlords want to know their property is being looked after and tenants want to know someone is listening.”
Before moving into property management, he worked in mortgages within the banking sector, where he developed a strong interest in the property market.
Accounts and Finance
Lauren Montgomery – Client Account Leader
Lauren Montgomery works on the financial side of property management, processing rent payments, paying contractors and landlords and preparing monthly statements.
She carefully reconciles accounts to ensure every transaction matches the tenancy records before funds are released.
“If something looks slightly off, I go back through it until I understand exactly why,” she says.
She focuses on explaining financial information clearly so landlords and tenants understand how figures have been calculated.
“People want to know their money is being handled carefully. Clarity avoids unnecessary disputes later.”
A Team Built Around Good Tenancy Management
A well-run tenancy in Edinburgh does not rely on big promises.
It relies on clear communication, consistent standards and people who take responsibility for the details.
That is exactly what the Albany Lettings team is here to provide.

And if you ever need support or guidance, there will always be a real person at the other end ready to help.
