Our story is really two stories that found the perfect way to meet.
Albany Lettings was founded in 1995 by Neil Johnston with a simple but powerful aim - to deliver the kind of service he, as a landlord, would want himself. In 1999, Albany settled into its home at 168 Bruntsfield Place in Edinburgh - a former jewellery shop - and quickly built a reputation for professionalism, personal service, and deep local knowledge.
Meanwhile, across the Irish Sea, Quicklet was brewing up its own big idea. In 2009, friends Dermot O'Hanlon and Gavin McEvoy spotted a gap in the rental market over a couple of mugs of tea.
They believed landlords and tenants deserved more than a tick-box service - they deserved people who listened, understood, and genuinely cared.
The first Quicklet office opened in Lurgan with a focus on friendly, straight-talking service backed by local expertise.
It struck a chord. By 2011, Quicklet expanded into Belfast through several acquisitions, and in 2016, a third branch opened in Lisburn.
In 2019, the two stories became one when Quicklet acquired Albany Lettings. It was a perfect match - both companies shared the same people-first ethos, dedication to results, and belief that property management should be personal. Albany brought over two decades of Edinburgh lettings expertise, while Quicklet brought streamlined processes, a wider network, and a proven track record of growth.
Today, we work seamlessly across our four locations - Edinburgh, Lurgan, Belfast, and Lisburn - combining Albany's local touch with Quicklet's modern, efficient approach.
Whether you're a landlord looking for peace of mind or a tenant searching for the right home, our commitment is built on six core values - the qualities that drive everything we do:
Our "Why to Win" is simple: we believe great property management is about more than bricks and mortar - it's about helping people thrive. That means doing things properly, treating people kindly, and bringing energy and passion to every interaction.
From our first mugs of tea in Northern Ireland to decades of service in Edinburgh, our journey has always been about people, and that's exactly how it will stay.
